Prague City Hall

Significant investments in the IT infrastructure of the city have been made in the years 2017-2018 when Prague City Hall gradually bought technologies for two new modern data centers. These data centers needed to be assembled, configured and their architecture had to be secured so that it could be actively used by the Office and the established organization to run key applications. Operation of these data centers was required 24/7 with the response time to critical outages up to 2 to 4 hours.
Prague City Hall

Prague City Hall is the municipal and regional office of the Capital City of Prague. Its scope is defined by the Act on the Capital City of Prague and the Municipal Decree on the Statute of the Capital City of Prague. The activities and organizational structure of the municipality are regulated by its organizational rules, which were issued by a resolution of the Prague City Council. Some independent and delegated powers of the Capital City of Prague are delegated by the city statute to the authorities of the city districts. In exercising the delegated powers, the municipality is superior to the district authorities.

Default situation

Beyond the initialization of data centers was the management, in which it was required to ensure the gradual migration of software and systems from the old to the new data centers and at the same time to ensure the modernization of selected systems. Prague City Hall sought partners which would be able to prepare solutions considering the citywide concept and in the future plans on offering built-in solutions for city companies or Prague city districts. Candidates had to prove sufficient knowledge of used technologies and procedural acts, ability to address random requirements and coordinate work in a larger number of suppliers, and diversity of equipment.
